We are well into the cold weather season and heat sources are costing us money! Let it be baseboard heaters, propane fireplaces, wood and or pellet stoves. Here’s a little tip to help you prevent the very thing that happened to my pellet stove. Unbenounced to me the small jam nut on the underside of my hopper cover latch was loosening with each 40lb bag of pellets and then it happened! The nut freed itself and found its way to the exit and embedded itself into the auger. This ended up in costs of upwards to $300 and the use on the baseboard heaters while the repair was in progress. The morrow of the story today is “ensure to monitor and tighten these jam nuts accordingly.”
